Have you ever seen a Manufacturers Statement of Origin? Is there anything in that document describing a buyer and seller or the terms of a transfer. Is there anything in it that can be determined with certainty who the owner is?

Keep in mind that all new cars are sold subject to prior sale, meaning the dealer bought the car first. He has title to the car but does not have a Certificate of Title. That is what is obtained when the end user applies for registration.

An MSO is proof from the dealer to the state that an application for registration is the original for that vehicle.
