Dates of conception always held more interest for me then the day when the baby is born.
While the Stars are a subtle influence, the instant of conception would be the moment when the DNA would set and I can find no other moment where the Stars would have as greater influence upon ones physical life then at this moment.
I liken it to a "snapshot" of the "Father" at any particular moment, with the child being the "developed photo".
David (others), do you know what day Hanukkah would have started that year?
Were there any major solar activity recorded on any of the days of Hanukkah in that year?
When was Shabbat during that Hanukkah?

"... There are, in Judaism, two types of commandments (mitzvot): the mitzvot asei, or the "Thou shalts,'" and the mitzvot lo ta'aseh, or the "Thou shalt nots." Sabbath observance comprises both. You are commanded, principally, to be joyful and restful on Shabbat, to hold great feasts, sing happy hymns, dress in your finest. Married couples even get rabbinical brownie points for having sex on the Sabbath. ..."
