Have 48 hours to respond to ticket

Hi guys, I've been somewhat disobedient of the man and chose not to register my vehicle when I purchased it from a friend. Its been wearing a plate that I had from my last vehicle. Also, I rarely carry ID as I learned from Robert Mendard that once they can prove who you are and that you are under their jurisdiction, they have authority.

Last night I got pulled over and told the officer that I believe its wrong to force people to ask for permission to drive through registration. He said he respected that, but he gave me a ticket for incorrect plates. He saw no documentation of any kind from me, no id or anything. But he did know who I was through the plate that was on my car and filled out the ticket accordingly. Oddly, he didn't ask me to sign anything. Just handed me the ticket and I was on my way.

So, now I have this ticket and I think that I can resolve this easily and quickly with a proper response, especially since I signed nothing.

I've read that writing "I refuse your offer to contract" on the ticket can work. Also, I've seen some info on tickets actually being used to pay for themselves by sending them back in the right way. I forget what that method is called though.

Please help me to respond in the most appropriate way. Thanks a ton for any help in these times of government oppression,
Aaron
