Texas real property tax

Never been to Texas myself, but maybe some will find this helpful:

http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxinf...h33e.htm#33.93

Quote:
Sec. 33.91. Property Subject to Seizure by Municipality.

(a) ...real property...is subject to seizure...if:

(1) the property:

(C) has been abandoned for at least one year...(and)

(2) the taxes on the property are delinquent for:

(A) each of the preceding five years...

same exact wording for:

Quote:
Sec. 33.911. Property Subject to Seizure by County
So parse it better if possible, but this looks to me like there has to be

1) an abandoned property

2) 5 consecutive years of missing taxes

So as long as the place is occupied (and this includes even doing some yard work!)

you keep it free of tax sales!

And if you paid 1 year out of every 5- this would also defeat a forced collection.

This awesome! (I hope-someone correct my mistake if any)
