Moses

I agree with your post.. but one thing I don't understand is why the Jewish people over in the middle east are at odds with the Muslims. After all according to Exodus 3:1

"And Moses became a shepherd of the flock of Jethro, the priest of Midian"

Wasn't Jethro a direct descendant of Abraham? I'm not an expert in the Muslim faith.. but I was under the impression that it branched from him... and he was Moses's father in-law... and Moses led the Jewish people from bondage. It never ceases to amaze me how organized religions take sides like they do.. after all it is the same God we all talking about.

I have studied a lot of religion in my life and agree with Jewish, Torah, Prophets and Writings (Old Testament). But one thing that doesn't make sense to me is that if the Torah, Prophets and Writings were in the perfect inspired word of God.. then why did the council of Nicea in 325 A.D. feel the need to edit it?

I have a Stone edition of the original hebrew books and the english transliteration of it and have spent years comparing it with various versions of the "Old Testiment" and have found hundreds of edits.

One such example is Pslam 51:7 .. in most cannonized texts it reads:

"My you purify me with hyssop, that I may be clean; May you wash me, that I may become whiter even than snow"

If you go to the Hebrew writings.. it appears under 51:9 as:

"My you purify me from inherited sin, with hyssop, that I may be clean; May you wash me, that I may become whiter even than snow"

The phrase "from inherited sin" was omitted in cannonized text.. doesn't that change the meaning from "Taking a bath" to "Regaining loss of God's way" .. most of the edits in cannonized text shift meaning in a similar way. Sounds like attorners subtle changes of contracts and statues of today.

Ancient texts make interesting study and debate. There is so much that has been distorted over the generations and so much that has been withheld.

If we can all just remember "Do unto others..." then we'll all live in harmony one day.
