Definition:

Partus Sequitur Ventrem - The offspring follows the mother; the brood of an animal belongs to owner of the dam; the offspring of a slave belongs to the owner of the mother, or follow the condition of the mother. Seeing that many men are crushed by Family and Divorce Courts (not withstanding the marriage license and other invisible contracts attached therein), I would believe there would be more fervor on mens' part to engage in status correction in order to retain one's rights to their children.
