Weis, you got that right about threads getting off-track--this one is doing just that.



Folks, as an objective observer I must say this about the word 'niger and nigger'. It is what you make it. If you acknowledge the word(s) and it makes one react positively or negatively--then the word has power over one and all. And the one using it on others to get said reaction has power over those people. Anytime you can speak and make something physical happen to someone--you have control. Look at Presidents, Hitler, Stalin, Atilla the Hun, supremacy groups, and so on.



But starve a word of that lifeblood and it dies. people say that they don't like the word--but they rarely live what they say. So don't talk about it--be about it. I for one look at folks with a blank stare when it is said because I do not know what it means and nor can I identify with it. I don't give it life and it is meaningless to me.



The color of my skin has not prevented me from helping anyone or asking for help. It has not stopped me from breathing or eating. So if most of my physical capabilities are still in tact--why in the world would I let a word make react negatively when nature hasn't?



The past few posts reflect just what I am saying. The thread is getting off track. Its going into bible verses, alleged 'bad' words, and renaming of threads.



This is suppose to be a teaching thread on the Moors and their influence on our society from past to present times. I know where kgod wants to go with this thread but, I suspect kgod may be a little frustrated with other things and not really focused on teaching right now. This is understandable if everyone knew a little past history on kgod and how far he has come. Kgod may be a little pissed about somethings outside of this topic so, distraction can easily occur---I'm guilty of this as well.



So this is my attempt to get the thread on a teaching mode and kgod back into focus. He has a lot to offer with this type of knowledge (whether it is accepted or dismissed is not the issue---getting the information out for investigation is the issue).



But as always do what you will with the thread; however, don't miss the message just because its wrapped differently.
