there is a California highway patrol on freeway overpass watching for people running the red light on the on ramp... I am traveling up the ramp and i see there is no cross traffic so there is no danger in not stopping (there cant be cross traffic) when i get to where the CHP is he waves for me to pull over, so i wave back and keep going down the freeway, he jumps on his motor cycle and follows me lights and all, so just to be nice i pull over to see whats wrong, he walks up to the right side of my private property and says: "I NEED TO SEE YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE AND REGISTRATION". i SAY: "i DON'T HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE, i WAS NOT DRIVING" (I AM IN A SUBURBAN ALONE). he looks around inside the truck and says: "WELL IF YOUR NOT DRIVING WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? I responded with an answer I learned from a guy named RICHARD MACDONALD in California, I said: I AM TRAVELING AND THE CONSTITUTION FOR THE CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC GUARANTEES THAT I HAVE A RIGHT TO TRAVEL FROM POINT "A" TO POINT "B" WITHOUT FEE OR RESTRICTION AND NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN "ADVISED" OF THAT FACT YOU ARE TRESPASSING ON MY RIGHT TO TRAVEL, AND I CAN SUE YOU PERSONALLY, NOT THE DEPARTMENT, BUT YOU, UNDER CIVIL CODE SECTION 1708 ABSTINENCE FROM INJURY, WHICH STATES EVEN IN THE PERFORMANCE OF A LAWFUL ACT IF YOU ARE CAUSING INJURY YOU MUST ABSTAIN. THE INJURY YOU ARE CAUSING IS A TRESPASS ON MY RIGHT TO TRAVEL, SO YOU MUST ABSTAIN". he looks at me for about 5 seconds and then he says: wait for it... "****" and then walks back to his motor cycle (I think hes going for his Tazer gun or something) and then he gets on the motorcycle and rides away, that was the first time I ever tried any thing like that, I sat there for a minute thinking this is some kind of trick, and just watched him ride of into the sunset never to be seen by me again.
the moral of the story: YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO TRAVEL...IT WORKS and if handled the right way, they do not want anything to do with you.
WHY SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT HONOR YOUR RIGHTS, WHEN YOU ALWAYS SETTLE FOR PRIVILEGES.
