I am in TX right now and when I got railroaded in NJ court, was prior to my awakening of the truth.
But what I can say is this.....my brother was successfully defending himself and asking them for jurisdiction before they proceeded but, my folks (who at the time thought he was crazy) told the authorities who his commercial person was and they arrested him.
It was a hard lesson for my parents because my brother was winning since they could not prove jurisdiction. But my parents (not knowing any better at the time) decided to speak up because they thought my brother would get into more trouble if they got tired of him questioning them.
Ahhh, my point is....I would first ask them to prove jurisdiction, then ask them to verify the complaint. This is courtesy of JHD. And it makes sense.
