WP,
Yes, I think I need to be ready on the spot with the trooper and not think I can begin to have the time to make a case in court. IF it goes to court, which I predict it will since, "I am just doing my job(and listening to my prey is not part of it) is the mindset of Mr. Cop, I will rely on simple minded questions like "what kind of action is this, civil or criminal?" and "Do you evidence of a complaining party?" and other nature and cause kinds of questions.
HB,
I like the Hotel California simile. And I thought the Eagles' song was odd words and good guitar! Using Private letters keeping my local DMV lady out of it is certainly best. She likely doesN'T have those pesky rescision forms anyways. After all, why would people bother to check out of the DMV system when they can never leeeave. "I guess we're just prisoners here of our own device"
And to do the song a bit deeper justice, here are the closing lyrics of the song:
They stab it with their steely knives (dishonorable actions)
But they just can't kill the beast (that's true)
Last thing I remember
I was running for the door (lost in the flury of my paperwork)
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before (and before I was issued my SS number, a sovereign memory)
Relax, said the nightman (Hello, I am from the government, I am here to help you, sign here.)
We are programed to recieve (no comment here!)
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave.
Growing up, I was told this song was from the devil, now I think it is contains more truth than the devil would want us to know.
