Good reading. I had started the book, but wasn't overly impressed with it, and never finished it. Everyone wants to embrace a loving, and tolerant god that treats sin as a something to be tolerated because that "is the way we are". They seem to forget that there are many passages in the Bible that reflect God's wrath, anger and judgement. If God is this tolerant and indulgent being that kind of turns his head when we sin, then there would have been no need for Jesus to die on the cross. Jesus had to go to the cross so that we could have a relationship with God, because we aren't capable of being w/o sin- because by nature we are sinners. We are in the day of grace now. He is tolerating our sin now so that we can come to know Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, and see ourselves as undeserving and full of sin and accept His death for our lives. But the day of God's wrath is coming, and His Grace will be gone, and it will be a fearful thing to endure. I won't be here for that- Praise God!
