I didn't think about the secret combinations making sure American forces would not be around to interfere or halt any future move against us. I believe they will accomplish this by overextending military commitments against multiple "enemies" at the same time.

I agree and believe this to be one reason why so many base closures. Our troops will continue to be deployed elsewhere and foreign troops will be moved in to take their place.
