I agree!
There was a metaphorical story I once heard regarding the 'burning hotel' that goes something like this:
It's 3am and you are awoken in your hotel room on the first floor by the smell of smoke. You step out into the hallway and follow the smoke to discover a raging fire that you estimate will consume the hotel of 100 rooms within the ensuing 10 minutes.
Knowing that time is of the essence, you begin by knocking on the 1st door, informing the inhabitants that they must 'wake up' and do something or perish. They respond to you from behind the door "You're crazy - go away and leave us alone - it's 3 in the morning."
You have a choice here. Spend the remaining time trying to convince the people behind the 1st door that they must do something or perish; or 'move on' to the next door, attempt to wake the inhbitants and hope that they listen and act. You have precious time left and desire to save as many as possible with your message of truth. Frustrated and sorrowful that the people behind the 1st door have rejected your message that would save their life, and knowing that there are others in the hotel to be saved, you move on to the next door.
I feel like this poor fellow; constantly knocking on the door of their belief systems and being told "You're crazy - go away and leave us alone." So, reluctantly, I finally do leave them alone, and move on to the next person in the hope that they might listen and (our country) be saved.
I probably don't have the exact story correct, but hope you get the gist of it.
One of the reasons that I enjoy this forum, besides the sometimes overwhelming amount of information, is the gathering of like-minded flesh & blood people with similar purpose and commitment. It does provide one with a respite for solace when depression over the reality of the big picture surfaces.
Nonetheless, thank you all for being here, giving of your time, knowledge and love.
