A Gaurdian Ad Litem or Law Gaurdian is nothing more than an attorney for the child, and makes all legal dicissions for the child, kind of like power of attorney. My son has one of them, NOT by my choice, I would suggest based on my experiences with them to go get professional mediation instead.
