Red face

That's pretty much how I see things.

My boss gets the whole "charging windmills" issue from his mom and dad.

True, making waves doesn't help you get ahead in the world (for the most part), but by being quiet and doing nothing, you only help the problem move along without resistance. Likewise, you also force yourself to bow to something you don't like.

I can say that 15+ years of playing it by their rules never got me what I wanted in life. What can they take from me now that they haven't already taken away?

My boss is content to have a plan for when the poop happens and head for the hills with his beans and guns, but I couldn't care less. Early this year (2005) they pushed through The Real ID Act against the will of the majority of Americans by attaching it to a needed military spending bill. THAT is what made me accelerate my "bug out" plans.

Now, Congress wanted to ban torture of "enemy combatants" and attached it to another needed military spending bill. Good old G.W. wants to veto (the first time he'd ever have done it in his two terms) the bill for that issue.

We have an administration that is for a national ID card and for torturing anyone declared (by administrative fiat) an enemy of the state? How can any sensible person want to maintain the status quo? :(
