Welcome
I never DIPUTE, with the CRA, only ask (at least the first time! LOL) that they provide verified validation of the entries on their report. They always try to trap ya with, Fill out a DISPUTE form. or Put a 100 word statement in the file. All are validation on YOUR part that you acknowledge the account -- so their work is, effectively, done. YOU have verified the account. FYI, they nearly never respond on the first request -- so don't give up too soon. It may take anywhere from 6-12 tries (usually one per 30 days), to get them to clean it up. I still have two I am attempting to clear. I am watching Jaylon's actions carefully.
Now the problem is, they are required (check the FCRA) to provide verified validation of the debt, and the process by which it is obtained and from WHOM. If they do not -- it is a 1692 violation, I believe -- check the code for sure. And this is a FTC violation that can be registered. See Jaylon's thread regarding suing the CRA.
Just my experience.
