You have to have your notice publicized in a Newspaper to accomplish common law trademark or copyright.

And it has to be a newspaper of General publication, meaning that it has to have regular circulation.


Thus the reason for paying someone to do this. I spoze one could do this if they owned their own newspaper, but I sold mine. ;)
