Talking No endorsement

It might seem that the account holder instructed the bank that any instruments made payable to same, be directly deposited into that account and not cashed.

On the back of checks received by me for a member of the family, who had an account at a certain bank, that I used to help with banking, there were many times that "For Deposit Only" was written on the back with the account number.

There was no endorsement.... they bank just accepted them for deposit.

What happens when you telephone a wire transfer of funds....? there's no endorsement then either. The bank just relies upon the information provided by the account holder who is transfering the funds.
