So far, nothing has been levied on the bank account and it has been 4 years. I keep it under a 1000 and have another friend with a different last name than me on the account too. I am told the IRS does not want to deal with possibly taking someone else's money, so it was an easy insurance move there. I figure when the lien comes, my wife will more than freak.
As I am getting ready to approach her employer about an IRS note they received, she shared with me last night that she'd rather die a tortuous death than go to jail or see me go to jail, or have "everyone" know that we don't pay taxes.
I blew it here. Four years ago I realized that we were not taxpayers. I should have simply dropped out MYSELF. Instead I took her with me. Now she gets notes from the viPeRS and I quietly deal with them(quite an evolution of responses, though, believe me!). That has been barely tolerable. But now that I am having to go "public" with it, she is dying.
As I understand though, once you leave the system, rejoining it can be expensive monetarily. So I am faced with a dilemma I didn't anticipate: What if she wanted back in to find some peace?
Well, some thoughts

well, what I know is that there is no peace from the world or its ways; ask your wife to seek the Lord for it. (and you also)
As for your propertyy, if the vipers can prove that the property in the bank is yours i'm sure they wont hesitate to take it.
what I can do is pray for you folks.
