Exactly...I never registered my "intent to home school". Essentially, that's asking permission to teach them yourself, and only puts you under their statutory requirements to force them to have yearly assessment testing; and if they don't perform "adequately" then you HAVE to put them into the public system...nevermind the fact that a large portion of public "educated" children do not meet these same qualifications. And in Washington state, the parent has to have either a certain number of college credits or complete a course that "qualifies" you to educate your own children. Forget that nonsense!
