Mutt, that has all been covered here in the past. I know that this is a very long with over 200 posts. Some day when you have some "extra" time check them out.
Until then here is brief summary.
The city was proposing changing all the building codes in our town. Local licenses, Hitler like rules and codes. We organized a group of local people and fought them and won. Since then we have stayed together and have been fighting the city, county and even the state on other issues where they are overstepping their bounds.
