Loophole to get rid of a speeding ticket?
I just got a speeding ticket in MA two days ago. My co-worker told me to do the following to get out of paying it:
-------------------
- Go to the town's court house within 10 days of receiving the ticket with two witnesses.
- Tell the clerk that you are there to see the judge about the citation
- Because you showed up within 10 days, you will not be in the (system? database?); the Clerk will not be able to find you, and you will not be able to see the judge.
- Instead, you will sign an affidavit saying you showed up to court. You're witnesses will need to sign it as well.
- By showing up to court, you fulfilled your legal obligation, and since the judge never saw you, the citation is taken off your record.
-----------------
Is there anything to this?
