No water bill
No sewer bill
No cable bill
My only bills will be the occasional propane refills, cell phone, and food. (and student loan) There are about a half dozen places I can park temporarily for sure near my work (which has sanitary facilities I can use....including showers)... and a couple I might get permission to use permanently.
People at work tend to view this plan with (putting it politely) skepticism. Some just plain think I'm nuts. One guy thinks it hilarious...in a good way. Keeps calling it a 'coup' and that he'll be laughing his arse off when I 'retire' in 2-3 years. ( but he's also the one who's looking at buying an old fishing trawler and converitng it to a living space, so HE at least understands...)
Yet these same people would think that getting a second job (to save up money) would be a stellar idea! Why would I burn myself out at a second job, only to pay a portion of my extra money to the gummint? So I can keep a fixed address with all those bills and have no time to do anything but sleep? Not to mention that the 'extra money' I'd get from a second job (most likely part time/minimum wage) wouldn't be anywhere NEAR as much as the savings I'd realize by paring my life down to a spartan existance in the TT.
You think it's latent jealousy, maybe? Or maybe it's just a 'herd' mentality.
Spartan life = nuts
Second job = noble
I just don't get it.

If you can do it, and nobody messes with you, do it!
Spartan life=Spartan life
Spartan=Strong
Second job=more "taxes" withheld, burning candle at both ends, putting up with more "job" BS etc...
If you can live simple and be happy, that is something!
People used to save their money just like what you are planning.
That used to be "noble."
I have a brother who lives in Badger California right next door to Kings Canyon and Sequoia Nat. Park who lived in a small "trailer" and still does.
He is sort of a hermit by inclination, but loves nature, and loves living simple.
He does accounting by computer and internet.
Living simply has kept him in excellant health.
He now owns several acres of beautiful land.
Don't talk too much about what you are planning to those people who want to ridicule you.
If you can live that kind of life--and there is something to be said for it--go for it.
You would be surprised at how your amenities increase after you have been living like that for awhile.
My two cents.
