Some insist on using natural cane sugar and almost always experts insist on using glass containers. The kombucha tea in the stores comes in glass bottles.
There is a mixture of inner bark of slippery elm, green walnut, burdock root and rhubarb root that is reported good against cancer -
Essiac Tea. I suppose you could grow kombucha in sugar water for that matter. But one could grow it in sweetened elixers of all sorts I am sure.
I noticed the inner bark of the slippery elm is also an ingredient in CancerX which simply burrows in through the skin and eats out tumors.
