Love your name, welcome to the forums.
The nutshell version is this.
Someone usually sends you an unsigned presentment to collect money.
Technically speaking, this is insufficient.
You can challenge them for verification of debt (VOD).
They can (from my experience) never produce it, because verification requires a sworn statement.
Thus, they agree by default that the debt is invalid.
Just my 2 cents.
