In Georgia the reason there are no patents is because it is an original colony. The copy of the land grant that was issued from the government to an individual will serve as the basis for patent.

Jeressee, you did a wonderful job explaining the sandwich process. Just make sure all the info on the affadavit is correct and notarised(you need spell check in this forum) before you present it to your county clerk or recorder.

By the way, you can also post the copy of affadavit on the courthouse door where land forfeit sales are posted, but you also have to post on all four corners of your property as well if it is not recorded in the county deeds, and have proof of publication.
