Ya I agree.
I wonder what border patrol will say when I do not answer "US or United States" when asked about my "citizenship" but rather, say "I am (we are), from StateName or Texans" or something like that.
Rather than be geared toward talking, it might be best to put it in writing and be consistent with what is written. Reminds me, on intl. flights they have those forms about visiting the "United States". I fancy if one isn't going to the United States one might do well to make that clear.: "I'm not going to the United States. I'm going to Texas land". I suppose its one thing to pass through and another thing to visit.
Coming back from a visit to Canada, they always search my trunk unless I do not have anything in the trunk. They never search the passenger area, just the trunk. Now, for the past 5 or so years they have had big structures that one must move the car through before speaking to the agent. I wondered how they "knew" that my trunk was empty and not to tell me to open it. I became aware recently that the border crossings XRAY THE CAR ON THE WAY THROUGH!
Doctors limit the amount of Xrays they take of people but the borders irradiate people without consent or notice.
Maybe that's why they are making cars out of plastic these days. Also, houses or cars painted with lead paint probably dont x-ray all that well. Its really ridiculous. An associate's dad travels between USA and Canada on a regular basis and he says that the security has beefed up. He says he intends to stop travelling to the USA indefinitely. His son intends to leave and not come back. Since the early 90s, millions of folks have left the USA behind because of the Orwellian future they perceived.
Can I refuse the open my trunk because they never have probable cause?
In addition to papers you have with you, you might be better off notifying the U.S. folks of your rights and/or status as a Texian or whatever by mail rather than (only) at the border. And I speak of such a manner as to cause them to put notice in their puters.
In the past, they would just move our luggage around a bit but not open our bags to see what was inside. Once the man peeled back the trunk lining on both sides and I noticed they were out of place. I think this is just the beginning of acclimating people for the takeover.
Or maybe the commissions they get for busting drug-related "crimes" are so high they are better motivated even to do things that might even make them break a sweat.
I will never ever proclaim myself as a 'US citizen'.
Probably a good idea.
