John 3: 3. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

Therefore, I believe he/she is making reference to his/her re-cognition that he/she has been 'born of the spirit' and thereof can make exception to the 'former life'.

Interesting hypothesis on the meaning. Thinking about it, the rest of the post, the psychiatric analysis, did seem a bit solemn.

Jerry,

That's quite a stretch.

And not at all true.

But I appreciate the reciprocal "shrinking" from you and David Merrill.

Makes one feel welcomed.

Regrettably, then I must denounce my own evaluation of what I thought you had intended.

Now that you have corrected me in my analysis, in what manner did you mean 'former life'? Just a curious question and is no way intended to defame any particular belief system you adhere to, unless of course it is part of the 'legalism' belief system.
