Last I heard, the "authorities" still have not been able to locate the girl who supposedly made the call.

In spite of that, the judge issued a search warrant on unsubstantiated information.

I guess even in a bad economy, the government can create plenty of work for liars, I mean lawyers.

George Gordon spoke of the doctrine of Parens Patriae.

From my understanding of his broadcast:

Children were originally the sole property (in rem) of the father. The interest in the child has been moved from law to equity with equitable interests split between the mother, father, and the state. The parent-child relationship becomes the Guardian-Ward relationship with the State as the superior Guardian.

This was gathered from the book, American Jurisprudence.

My personal theory is that this relationship becomes active via the 'certificate of live birth'.

... I don't agree with everything that George Gordon says and quite frankly he can be a bit out there for me at times, but his webcasts are some of the absolute best that anyone can listen to in order to get up to speed on many issues concerning law.

Michael Badnarik isn't too shabby either. I've been personally switching from listening to less rap, rock, techno, and dance music to more podcasts and downloads on law.
