The charge: Transfer (not possession) of a machinegun. The guy loaned his rife to another at a range and it misfired once sending 3 rounds downrange before jamming.

So the message here is
(1) don't loan out your rifles?
(2) don't use or possess soft primered commercial ammunition?
(3) don't let the BATFE test your arms?
(4) don't volunteer into the court system?
(5) do obtain prior certification from the manufacturer that they will indemnify you if the piece ever expends more than one round for one trigger pull?
(6) don't use a commercial range to practice?
