I wouldn't suggest a corp sole.

There are many other structures available that accomplish the same thing but don't carry with it the increased scrutiny that the government has placed on their use.

The corporation sole is a ticket to go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

It's not quite that cut and dry, but Bill's suggestion is advice best followed nonetheless.

Corporation Soles are very valid structures (Monarchs of England and the Pope have used Corp Soles) but they've been abused in the states to the point where the IRS approaches them with the prejudice of an abusive tax shelter. Not suggested for a U.S. citizen. However they can be useful to a non U.S. citizen/person and/or one who has a legitimate "ministry".

My take on it is: why even bother? There are other, BETTER solutions out there.

I suggest against the creation of ANY statutory entity for the purposes of a 'ministry'. Ministries are best when unattached to the government in any fashion whatsoever.

I would like to comment on the strategy of the offshore trust, in particular the Offshore Foreign Grantor Trust. I found a website that advocates, among its various asset protection strategies, an offshore FGT. You can PM me for the site for now. [sovereigner]

I would like the webiste you referenced in your reply. I am investigating "hidden assets" and feel this information would assist me in my research.
