For those of you who missed news of the scandal, last summer the U.S. Department of Justice had the Superintendent of Documents order public libraries to destroy five DOJ publications on asset forfeiture -- publications distributed by the Government Printing Office to public libraries throughout the country in the last four years. As FEAR reported below, under pressure from public librarians and the public, on July 31, the DOJ backed down and rescinded its order that the public libraries destroy the publications.

I think these documents are already available elsewhere, however the FEAR website may be of interest to some of you.
