You can't. I said they (USPS Money Orders) WERE BACKED BY GOLD. Not redeemable in gold.

I wonder why the police don't think like that when they call for back-up. Have twenty people backing you up, but not one will help.

Kind of like having nukes to back you up in war, but never using them?

Codee, this really does make sense! I gotta get ahold of the Barton! (Will he accept collect calls, and then use his money order to pay it?)

I don't think they are backed by anything intrinsic otherwise why are they denominated in $? The single bar S signifies no commodity as far as I know. They are backed by the fiat you used to aquire them and that's it. If anyone can prove me wrong please do.

What does "Backed by gold" mean id it does not mean I can redeem in gold?

Gold is the acceptable form of money in international jurisdictions, or paper backed by gold. 18[18] When we purchase postal money orders, the money order is backed by gold, not the fiat “money” called Federal Reserve Notes.

Really, thats like saying, "we have all this gold to back it up, but dont try to get the gold".

I'm going to print this out, and take it to my Post Master, see what she says. (I can already hear her telling me to "wake up" lol) And I'm going to DEMAND to see the gold she has to back up these money orders.
