Bankruptcy off of CR after 8 years?

More than 8 years ago, the wife and I filed bankruptcy. Since that time, perfect credit, excellent scores, but that ONE black mark.

I wrote requesting the BK remvoal. Denied.

Now this isn't really a VOD because there is no collecting as the "discharge" seemed to "satisfiy."

It is a dead issue basically.

Is there another angle here that I am missing?

OK,

After some thought, I realized something:

My credit score is excellent right now with NO bad marks. This must mean all of the formerly "discharged" creditors no longer have records from me 8 years ago.

Thus, I can STILL ask for VOD and know very full well it can't be provided.

Time to send off new lettters NOT requesting the BK be removed, but that it be validated and if not, THEN removed.

right track?

scott

Scott,

Did you dispute the BK as not being yours? The key is disputing it. I had a BK on my record and three years later disputed it and was removed on all three CRAs. Keep disputing it until it is removed. The BK courts usually do not validate BKs that old.

Scott,

First things first...you must realize that you have unlimited credit. You are the source of wealth. Keep this in mind when dealing with the CRAs.

Next, have them verify the alleged debt entry first before a dispute can begin. But since it is a BK and you may have done this prior to taking the red pill--you may have unwittingly gave them verification. But demand it anyway--you never know.

I have not disputed it yet at all.

Two weeks ago, I requested that the BK mark be removed.

Today, they said, "Denied."

Eight years ago, I had a bottle of blue pills. I took one every day.

Now, one red pill later, I flushed the blue pill bottle!

Now I shall ask them to VERIFY first. Give them 30 days. Then I shall dispute it, I predict.

Thanks for your thoughts, guys.
