Foreclosure Epidemic
The Summa Corp. decision states that all that is needed is an "assertion" in the patent. What they seemed to be stating is that, if you state the land is under patent (probably good to have the patent #), that is enough. Check the "Land Patent" document and critically read the Summa case cites ( of which there are several ).

No. Land Patents don't work.
The land patent will not prevent a foreclosure.
The only way to stop a foreclosure is bankruptcy. Chapters 13, 11, and 12 - but mostly 13 if you have a regular income.
"In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important, groups: the police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories."
In the criminal justice system, defendants are represented by two completely different types of lawyer: Group 1 is typified by the Public Defenders who never write anything, exist to make deals, and are obsequious members of the state bar. Of group 2 there is only 1: Lawyerdude is the New Paradigm, a prolific multi-jurisdictional computer/ internet-driven lawyer who has passed the bar exam and refuses to let the bar infringe on his 1st and 6th amendment rights! This super defender sees state bars as burdens on interstate commerce. He wins cases without going to court! His is the only profession listed in the U.S. constitution. His mandate supervenes mere state statutes! These are his stories.

I'm no mouth-piece but the above statement by Dood is clearly not a logical conclusion based on the question of *WHO* in their right mind would 1. patent their land, and then 2. go get a mortgage? (death grip)
After patenting the land, it's owned by the patentee. period.
there is no need to get a mortage and there-by reduce equity in the land because one lives on the land for free! there are no taxes, fees, licenses required to live on the land.
However, if one is dumb enough to mortgage the patent, then they ought to get what they sow - ruin the patent.
Patenting land removes it from sight of govt.
dont screw it up.

Hey!
I feel Foreclosure is one of the most unfortunate situations that will change one's life and it is hard to get out of. Foreclosures will usually happen because of economic factors. So everyone must try to avoid foreclosure at the early stage.

Indeed, I feel that people are too busy living hand-to-mouth to really watch that budget, and figure viable alternatives to that large chunk of metal on four wheels there. Twofold; people do not have the $1 to $2K to sink into an ebike. And two, people seem to be in a denial that the vehicle they are driving to work and out on grocery and even silly errands is putting their homes into bankruptcy - until it is too late.
Regards,
David Merrill.
