Banking with no SSN

Anyone have any information on opening a bank account without a SSN here in our country?

Been looking around for awhile and haven't come up with anything other than off-shore stuff.

If not, what are the alternatives - other than paying with FRN's or having to buy money orders?

Banking with no SSN

I'm told that you should be able to open an account no problem with no SSN, or SIN #. Have you tried asking the bank? Nothing says that you are required to use your SSN or SIN in opening an account, so if they refuse you might try using the Notarial Protest that Vanton57 is talking about.

Personally, I would buy gold, put a safe in your basement, encase it in concrete, and buy a gun.
