IIRC the US gubmint sold an alitlaia (sp) press to the shah of Iran in the mid to late 70's. Though the technology has changed, these presses may still be in use. I have worked in the printing industry and though there are new digital pre-press technologies emerging constantly, there are plenty of shops running on 50-60 year old presses, just like old machining and milling equipment or old generators. This stuff just doesnt wear out..
SO, if someone figured out how to make the paper glow under UV light and insert the little security thread things, watermarks are not that hard to do....it should be relatively easy with ample resources to copy an FRN.
The funniest part about the whole thing is that the FED prints 'money' and imparts value on it by putting it into circulation. Yet if another country tries the same thing, they get their knickers in a twist...
