COLLECTION AGENCIES REACH A NEW LOW

I HAD PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED ALL KINDS OF NICE MAIL FROM COLLECTION AGENCIES ASKING TO RETURN THEIR PHONE CALLS. I WAS EVEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A COUPLE POST CARDS WITH SMILING FACES AND LITTLE HEARTS BUT TODAY SOMETHING SPECTACULAR HAPPENED.



I HAVE RECEIVED A "REFUND LETTER" FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE A REFUND MANAGEMENT OFFICE SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA.



IT'S A TWO PAGE LETTER AND I BELIEVE THE FIRST PAGE WAS INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK. THE SECOND PAGE DESCRIBES PARTIALLY THAT I'M OWED A REFUND AND THAT I SHOULD CALL ASAP TO CLAIM THE REFUND.



WOW!!!WHAT A LOAD OF CR*P!!! THIS REALLY CRACKS ME UP.



BTW, THEIR ENVELOPE HAS A P.O. BOX RETURN ADDRESS AND THE LETTER WAS ACTUALLY SIGNED BY SOMEBODY WHO'S A SENIOR ACCOUNT ANALYST.



IS THIS COMING FROM A DEBT COLLECTOR OR WHAT?

ANYBODY WITH SIMILAR STORIES?

Why not write them back and say thanks!!! Mail it to me right away. How on earth are you going to get the check if you call them?



They have your address obviously--why not mail it? Other places that give refunds--mails them back.



Are they happy for you so much to the point where they want to talk to your personally?

I FORGOT TO MENTION, THE VERY LAST SENTENCE MENTIONS THIS REFUND TO BE AN URGENT MATTER.

WOW, THEY WANT TO REFUND THIS MONEY SO DESPERATELY THAT IT'S URGENT FOR ME TO CALL.



I'M NOT EVEN GONNA WASTE MY TIME WITH THIS ONE.

I'VE GOTTEN REFUNDS FROM MORTGAGE AND INSURANCE COMPANIES BEFORE AND YOU'RE RIGHT, THEY JUST MAIL IT TO YOU. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER PHONEY TACTIC BY THESE THIRD PARTY THIEVES. I WONDER HOW OFTEN IT WORKS FOR THEM.

How about writing and asking for your refund but just put name on letter, don't sign. That is what the collectors do.
