Gold! Yeah!

I am suprised nobody else has mentioned this over the past week.

This week, gold has reached a 16 year high - it has not traded this high since July 1988.

At the same time, the US dollar has slumped to a 9 year low. Greenspan is unable to "correct" (manipulate) this trend.

Gold futures climb above $448

UPDATE 1-Europe gold surges as dlr wanes on Greenspan

Anybody else see this coming?

Anybody else wonder what is being planned?

I was hoping it would have waited a little longer but yeah, I've been keeping tabs on precious metals. No, I don't know exactly what it means. I do know that Malasia recently when back to a gold based currency and will only be accepting gold as payment for oil in the near future. The Euro is beating up on the American dollar but the entire money system is being manipulated anyway.

I think the price of gold has been kept low artificially for the past few years.

What are your thoughts on this?

I will give my thoughts - here is the short version:

"Get rid of your fiat money while you can - buy gold and silver."

Now, here is the long version: http://local.suijuris.net/index.php?p=31

Enjoy!

Gold and silver.....

I've been reading information on gold and silver, silver specifically, that say that gold and silver will "break through" within a year or so. While gold will obviously remain considerably higher, silver will perform better, only to get to it's "natural" 16 to 1 ratio and it is in this period where having a good bit of silver would pay off.

For those where frn's are used will have a hard time getting people to use gold and silver for payments and this is considering that most of those folks realize that gold and silver are still valuable.

I've been expecting it for a year, and have been buying PMs since then. Only half way to my goal, but I'm getting there.

Good sites to watch for great info on the money system:

www.moneyfiles.org
www.gold-eagle.com/editorials.html
www.dailyreckoning.com/
www.gold321.com

etc...

Get some real money now before it is too expensive...

I wish I could find them, but there were some articles about a few towns wherein people were actually starting to use silver to pay for goods and services. One was in Nevada (I think), where they started it as a way to support the local silver mines, but then the idea spread.

Gold and silver.....

Another site you might find interesting is the "Silver Investor". As the title says, it is all about silver. Good articles. I like reading articles from Ted Butler.

I like the Daily Reckoning. They have one writer, Richard Daughty(aka The Mogambo Guru) very entertaining.

I'm familiar with Gold-Eagle.

I'm not aware of any town('s) in Nevada, but I understand, I think it is Vermont or Maine, s looking to legislate the backing of the frn with gold and silver. From what I understand, businesses in a place called Wallace Idaho uses silver and gold as payment, mostly silver due to all the mines around there.
