Maybe its just me, but the new bankruptcy law.....

Hello everyone.

I was up late last night just thiking about the new bankruptcy laws that were just passed. Im sure by now you have heard of them.....its now gonna be harder for people to claim bankruptcy........

OK, I would appreciate any and all advice on this subject.

Here is what I was taught as a child by my crappy school system and by my parents......On a town level, if we wanted a stop sign erected to prevent accidents on a certain corner, we would pettition and go to the town representatives, our vessles for our private little government, would work with us to get it passed if a) enough people wanted it, b) made sense to put up a sign for safety reasons.

I was taught that the US government worked the same way. On so many levels, it seems logical. If there is somthing needed for the good of the people, then our state representatives, us senators and us congresmen are our vessles for our protection and better way of life. Seems logical so far right?

Here is where I feel lost.....Please offer facts about government process for me too.........At what point did the american people prepare a bill for the government to sign that makes it harder for us to claim bankruptcy? Why would the american people in their right mind make it harder for the very people we are representing and easier for the banks?

It leads me to beleive this Bill, which is now law, HAD to have been created by the very organizations that would benefit financially. The Banks! I know... it all comes down to money and special interest groups, but why is it that the first time I heard of this new law was when it passed? Why didnt I hear about arguments in the paper and the radio about why the american people should actually protest a bill that makes thigs harder for us to live?

WHY?

Now I just read today about the SAME GOVERNMENT is letting UNITED AIR shed its pensions plans to save themselces from bankruptcy. BILLIONS NO LONGER NEED TO BE PAID. People who have been working there for 40 years are now going to be left with NOTHING and then wander into their new existance with NOT ONLY NO MONEY, BUT NOW HARDER FOR THEM TO CLAIM BANKRUPTCY!!

WHY DOES THIS NOT PISS PEOPLE OFF LIKE IT HAs TO ME?

WHY IS IT THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WOULD RATHER BE ENTERTAINED AND NOT EDUCATED?

I dont know what else to say.

Only a select few are interested in truth and are willing to stand up for that truth. This has been shown throughout history and even the Bible predicts this. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. As I have said on this board in the past it is us that have brought all our problems on ourselves. It is our lazyness that has allowed our government to trample on us. I have spoken to many people that think our goverment is doing just fine and people actually believe that Bush and the congress has our best interest at heart. No matter what they are told or shown their belief is unchanged. It is much easier to believe a lie than it is the truth. We continue to pay for our ignorance.

absolutely

you are absolutely correct. As mentioned, we, as a people, are more concerned with what paris hilton is doing this week, than paying attention to the crap going on right in front of our noses.

It just sticks in my craw, and it makes me want to scream in to the streets, but unfortunately I would be labled a cook. I can just do what I can now to protect the sanctity of my family.
