Uh, I don't know if that was success. Just getting them to hang up is not success--because Sherry admitted to the debt, she may get a bill this month or next month.

This was probably an attempt to revive the statute of limitations on an expired debt, by having the alleged debtor acknowledge the debt.

And if he answered the way he said he did, he probably did revive it. Being a smart-ass isn't particularly wise when dealing with creditors.

If somebody ever asks you if you remember a debt, you say "Hell No!"

If somebody ever asks you if you still owe a debt, you say "I don't know of any debts that I owe, period-the-end."

Once you admit the debt, they will come back to collect.
