Letters Opinion

I have written my letter as follows:

Subject: Certified Verification

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to make a request for "Certified Verification" for each item currently on my credit report. Blacks Law Dictionary defines Verification as: “Confirmation of correctness, truth, or authenticity, by affidavit, oath, or deposition.”

I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. Please forward any Certified Verification to me, or remove any item that you are reporting that you do not have “Certified Verification” for.

Please note the details below that you will need to retrieve the information on this account:

xxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxx

What do you think? Is this better or not as good as just asking for it. I am trying to turn the heat up right out of the gate.

Is that a bad idea? will it send up a "this guy is a flake" flag?

Thanks for any input, which won't be taken as legal advice.

Re:Letters Opinion

You should probably include the citation of 15 USC 1692g. You can look into Jersee's VOD success pdf file for more accurate one.

Wait, scratch that, the 1681 parts are what you want, not 1692. 1692 is for debt collectors, but 1681 is for credit reporting agencies. Take a look here for more info:

You might tell them that you've tried to get verification from the alleged creditors (if you have) and are now turning to them, since they are reporting unverified alleged debts.

Also, mention that if they can't verify them that they must be removed from your credit report. Tell them this isn't a dispute over an amount, but a request for verification.

Any other comments? Jersee?

Re:Letters Opinion

Thanks rushpat. I am digging in.

Two more questions:

I have one credit card that is eating me alive. I know there is some information here, but I can't remember where I have found it.

Second, How do I get one of the icons by my name?

Thanks!!!!

Re:Letters Opinion

Henrybowman,

The downloads section is a great place to start and its FREE!

Also, if you notice in my letter to all three CRAs, I did not claim that the credit report was mine. It belongs to your commercial person (strawman). Furthermore, I just notify them of the code. They know that they must delete unverifiable information. Also, I would put them on notice of the "willful non-compliance" code as well.

Please be aware that you will be met with resistance. So therefore, study and frequent visits to this forum and the download section are key. Also, a trip to the law library would help too.

Once you use your remedy to satisfy the alleged credit card debt--be ready to fight and have fun.

No one is above public policy. And NEVER ARGUE.
