I just got an idea

Do a search at the courts for any liens and then go bakc to the CRA and tell them that it is not possible to get a "court order from a judge releasing the lien" because there are no liens, or judgments, at any court, in your name, for the judge to release.

I don't know if the court will Certify the fact that there are no liens, but it's worth a try.

If anyone is interested, I know someone that will do a thorough search for liens at all the courts for about $20- I don't know if a certified copy of it can be obtained though.

Take them to court. Find out in your state which court is applicable--in Texas it is the District court.

jerseee,

can you elaborate on this? i'm about to send a letter to all 3 clowns threatening to complain with the FTC.

is there a more effective way to do this. i'm also in texas.

should i just threaten to sue in district court first?

PJT04,

I cannot elobrate on any specific issues with this because it is not my issue. But I can tell you that the person tried to file a complaint at the county courthouse and they gave her the run around. They told her that she could not file a complaint against teh CRA and to go see the DA. The DA told her that she needs a lawyer to file a complaint in the appropriate court.

I told this person to do some research and they found the DA is part right. You can take the CRA to district court but I told her where in the law does it state you need a lawyer to sue a company?

In any event, research is the only answer to more questions you have. And you should sue--it'll get their attention.

PJT04,

Regarding filing complaints with the FTC, it is "useless" in that the FTC doesn't address individual complaints. However, if enough of us complain acout the same company it can make a difference. Per their website "While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint helps us investigate fraud, and can lead to law enforcement action."

Complaints can be filed online at www.FTC.gov
