Call the ChexSytems first if they have your record on their database. If they do the rest of the organzation quoted above will do too as you no they all work together like CRA.

Your Next step is to deal with the bank that reported it first, and after you done that then you can you used all your remedy against the chexsystem just as you do with CRA.

Folks,

Good showing! Way to come together on this stuff but, we are missing valuable points.

1. Don't call anyone about an alleged debt or alleged debt entry--conduct business in writing.

2. Never Argue. There is no need to argue when you have remedy. Accept the negative energy and return it with your remedy.

3. USe the case law posted in the beginning of this forum--the first four threads are like GOLD!!!

No one contracts with chexsystems or the like--so if they are using your information you need to start attacking where they got it from--the banks. I helped my mother out of this situation and that took at least a month and not one phone call.

Jerseee you right, but remember that the CRA dont have your record in their database until you apply for credit card or loan before they idenfity who you are and created a record in their database. Same goes with chexsystem when you right them for inquires they add your name to their database even if you have no record or any adverse information. They will create a new database for the information you furnish. If you call just ask if any so so and so in their database, as simple as that.If respondent say no then case close. No argument no discussion period.

Charles,

chexsystem and CRAs are 2 different animals. One is dependent on you filling out a credit card or loan application. The other gets info from the bank on your activities (negative activity usually). In any event, you did not openly consent to the use of your information to be used against you--to deprive yourself through commercial means.

And how do you know that if you call chexsystems and do what you are eluding to--that chexsystems does not take your phone call as verification of an entry they have? If you call asking questions about such and such account--that is verification to them. That is the same as a debt collector calling to verify their accounts through your conversation as acceptance.

Be wary is all I can say. Because the next thing you know--someone might be here trying to get rid of chexsystems and can't because they made a phone call that verified an account with them. So if you expect chexsystems to act honorably because of a phone call--then good luck homey.

Bank continues to honor debit request on closed account

An update on this -- the bank sent a letter saying the account is closed. The balance is zero, thus reinforcing the orginal premiss that the account was indeed so and that no debits/actions should be occurring on this account. Interesitngly, just recently got ANOTHER letter saying that the bank is investigating something -- don't have the letter in front of me currently -- an entity trying to utilize another auto debit I think. Now the account has been closed nearly six months, and they just now are sending this?

Can you say "Attempt to re-contract?"

Add it to the list.
