Re:student loan sold to another bank
thanks for all the great comments!& I've been away for awhile and am just checking back in.
Question, rumor has it that Student Loans are not dischargable -- something in the contract.& I will be looking this up soon, Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of these clause in the "loan" intself?&
The original loan I spoke of is listed as and "alternative -- Norwest Colligiate" -- this leads me to believe that it is just a regular loan offered to a student to cover remaining costs that government funded loans/grants do not.& Will have student original paperwork on this next week.& (Moving should be complete!)
Thanks again to all you "scholars"!

Re:student loan sold to another bank
There were several successes of discharge of student loans posted at UCCSG.
Okay, so somebody make up my mind for me... first ya say WELLS FARGO bought NORWEST... now ya say its a merger...
Which is it?& It is my understanding that WELLS FARGO purchased NORWEST... there wasn't any mention of a merger or takeover.
Note the word "sell" throughout the initial post... and the following statements regarding the "purchase" of Norwest.
Ya'll can't get an valid suggestions or opinions if ya don't supply proper details!
BTW, the attornies will not put anything into evidence anyway... that's almost guaranteed.

Re:student loan sold to another bank
Ice,
It's both a merger and a purchase! This is the part where you get off your lazy butt and look up what a merger consists of. LOL!!! (I'm on a roll now& ).& This&alone should&clear up&your confusion.& But to make what could be a long post&into a&short one, just about&every merger involves some form of a purchase/sale of assets and/or stock; e.g. what is a freeze-out or cash merger vis-a-vis&a statutory merger vis-a-vis a stock merger vis-a-vis a blah blah blah merger vis-a-vis etc...
And I do not want any CRS excuses either. LOL!!! LOL!!! (ok, I'll stop now ).

Re:student loan sold to another bank
And then, that was where I simply stated that regardless of how Wells Fargo acquired the note, they are not immune from public policy. And to avoid an argument, Squirrels skillfully agreed, which allowed me to stay in honor and not appear to argue. hahahahahhahhaaaa i should be in politics.

Re:student loan sold to another bank
Guess what?... it is still a "purchase of evidence"... not an assignment or any other thing.& "Funds" change hands... that's purchase.
But the really cool thing is this: they are not the original creditor -- and, as stated so frequently, they are not immune to public policy.
