debt collector not identifying the company they are from!
I am wondering if anyone has had telephone calls from collectors leaving only their name and contact number but not what company they represent?
Would this be in violation of USC Title 15, Chapter 41, SubChapter 5, §1692d(6) of the FDCPA?
§ 1692d. Harassment or abuse
15 USC §1692d(6) - Except as provided in section 1692b of this title, the placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller’s identity.
I think this is from the actual credit agency, but I am not sure.
I used their numbers to find out what company they are and this is what I found.
Accounts Receivable Management Inc in New Jersey
Household Credit Services in California
If anyone has any info. or pointers to the correct codes, I greatly appreciate the assistance.
