Handy dandy credit repair book

I purchase this credit book last night.&It was only 10.95.& It is verrry helpful.&It did not answer my question regarding my tax liens so I paid Kristi, the author of the book, $5&for the&answer.& Her answer is below this link.

I had the EXACT situation happen to me.

You have done all the right things so far. &When I asked for method of verification, they also gave me the name of the county recorder. &One
thing you should know, is that a tax lien is placed on your property and all liens are recorded at the county recorders office. &So this is probably the source.

The credit bureaus never actually talk to the original creditors. &Here is a link bearing that out...

What I did was call my county recorder's office and I asked to speak to them about the lien. &Since it wasn't mine, they couldn't verify it. &I called Equifax back and demanded they contact the court house, gave them the direct line and name of the person I spoke to and demanded that they call this person or I was going to sue them. &They must have called, because the tax lien came off.

Hope this helps....

A land patent would have nullified the property lien.

But good for Kristy anyway.

Re:Handy dandy credit repair book

Tora, I believe I have seen that book... is it the one where they tell you to sue the CRAs for damages and removal of the derogatory information on the credit report?

For those who haven't seen it, the idea is to sue in your local small claims for violations of the FCRA, at $1000 per violation.

You will serve the registered agent for the CRA, and at the same time send a settlement offer letter, stating that you will drop the suit if they simply remove the derogatory info. Since they don't want to bother with legal fees, they supposedly will settle in this fashion most the time.

I am working on a private administrative remedy with the CRAs, and am about to discover whether it is effective or not. Expect to hear something on this within the next few weeks.

Regards,
Sui Juris

Good work Tora.& The fact that the CRA never talks to the original creditor was all I ever needed to hear.&

This looks like another good link for credit repair issues: www.carreonandassociates.com.

Also, while doing a little research in preparation for my own letter to the CRA's, I found this to add a little more punch:
&16 C.F.R. Pt. 600, App.

& CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS
& TITLE 16--COMMERCIAL PRACTICES
& CHAPTER I--FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION
&SUBCHAPTER F--STATEMENTS OF GENERAL POLICY OR INTERPRETATIONS UNDER THE FAIR
CREDIT REPORTING ACT
PART 600--STATEMENTS OF GENERAL POLICY OR INTERPRETATIONS
Current through May 13, 2004; 69 FR 26510

Appendix--Commentary on the Fair Credit Reporting Act

Introduction

&1. Official status.& This Commentary contains interpretations of the Federal
Trade Commission (Commission) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).& It is
a guideline intended to clarify how the Commission will construe the FCRA in&
light of Congressional intent as reflected in the statute and its legislative
history.& The Commentary does not have the force or effect of regulations or&
statutory provisions, and its contents may be revised and updated as the&
Commission considers necessary or appropriate.

I found this commentary to be rather helpful and informative and suggest others to look it up as well.

ok sui juris, but what are some of the things you can claim in your petition that the credit bureaus are doing wrong?

Have you done a successful land patent? That would be something.
