CRA's initiating Dispute letters
Okay, so my daughter did the Verification of Debt to CRAs just like I did, only she starts getting back notices from accounts stating that they have been notified that she is disputing their account/claim! Keep in mind, no where in the letter does it say "I want to dispute."& It only requests that they verifiy the information they maintain and release.
So, what would you do in this instance?& Respond to each account letter with a VoD or what?
Thanks for your help and input.& Much appreciated!

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
Something like:
"Attn: CRA
I've received your response dated....which states you have correspondence from me in which I allegedly claimed I was disputing accounts blah blah...This is incorrect. I asked for verification of the debt...blah blah....Cite code sections and stuff......"

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
Quite frankly, for the most part I recommend that one not bother with the credit bureaus for the most part. I do realize that there are those times when one has no other choice but in my way of thinking it is little more than an exercise in futility.
One of the multitude of reasons that I feel that way is that the credit bureaus are like the newscasts on TV. They are there for the sole purpose of reporting events, not to generate those events they report on. In otherwords, they have no original information and in the event that their information does turn out to be originally generated by them then it is most likely to be wrong information.
So in my personal opinion, fooling with them is a waste of time in most cases.

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
Hoosegow,
Glad to see you posting.
You've taken a good stand on the issue of the CRAs.& However, it is flawed.& You see, the CRAs do not generate information but they do report it.&
Whether it is good or bad--they report it to the public, just like newscasters.& Now if there is erroneous and fraudulent information being reported to the public by the CRAs about someone, how does one move effectively in commerce with these negative ratings in acquiring credit?
If you know of a way without dealing with the CRAs please enlighten us.

I do hope that my serious attempts to deal with CRAs in a WISE manner are not interpreted as fooling around. ;)
I take the health of my commercial person quite seriously and do not fool around re such issues.

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
Sounds good seeker,
But the CRAs could care less whether you pay or not so I would not even mention anything about payment.

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
That's looks good to me. BUt there is no need to remind them of their duty according to the code. So that second part I would leave out.

Re:CRA's initiating Dispute letters
You can leave these out of the letter also:
<FONT face=Arial color=#444444>" ... and put me into dishonor."</FONT>
<FONT face=Arial color=#444444>" ... so that I may stay in honor... "</FONT>
<FONT face=Arial color=#444444>Stick to the facts... and never give them any more info then they need.</FONT>
