No license to do business

I was just at the Division of Financial Services webpage for Louisiana. I was looking to see if my Mortgage company had a license to do business in La. The mortgage co. is Citicorp Bank Trust Mortgage Services and they were not listed as being licensed in La. Even their parent bank, Citicorp Trust Bank fsb, is not listed as being licensed in La. Any thoughts? Should I maybe contact my SoS to see how it is they are operating with out a license if this is truely the case?

No license to do business

Some states have different licensing requirements. I was able to find out that my state (Georgia) does not specifically require a license to transact business for debt collectors. However, upon further inspection, a 3rd party debt collector must post a $50,000 bond with the clerk of the superior court in the county in which they want to do their collection.

You'll need to do some research on this.
