Opinions please--CRA" Verification Documents not available"

Just checked my spouse's Credit report with Equifax online. Interesting note -- Citibank, one of the accounts we have been battling and did the VoD/Dishonr process on has this great line of red -- you know, overdue, didn't pay whatever -- all of a sudden, it is Green -- account current! As of MAY, when they would have received the Certificate of Dishonor from our third party disinterested notary. hmmmm -- did they cash in the BoE we sent to them? They did not return it. They did not reject it. They did not respond. Period. Now the report shows a "change" and it says "okay" for May. I find this very curious and would love some critical thought opinions?? Also, it said that there were now four accounts in the 30-60-90 files, but I can's see a change there. Two of the four listed are closed, zero accounts. One due to the power company deciding to add a huge deposit after more than a year of service (we objected and said we did not agree to their offer of a deposit. They took all payments and applied them to the deposit and then said the account was past due -- great tactic, huh?) The other is a closed account on which I was th primary and it had been settled nearly a year ago. Why is it listed and open on this report? Very strange.



Anyway, opinions please on how this just might be a loaded gun they've just handed me pointed in their gernal direction (for you Monty Python fans, you'll get that "General Direction thing (and it ain't a gun!))

We finally got a reply from TU for all requests and they are still playing dumb -- "verification Documents not available"

They stated on my spouse's report that they are unable to "comply with your request to remove your credit report from our records" and some other stuff -- didn't ask for it to be removed, only the stuff we had CD's for -- which they claim "Verification not available"

What the HECK are they talking about!?

Don't dance with them on this. Stay on course and use the code against them. Keep demanding verification. Keep stating this is not a dispute. And gently remind them of the evidence of their dishonor. Collect the replies as evidence and take them to court if this is not settled after 90 days. The code gives you 30 days but grace gives you more than 30 days and keep syou in honor as you have given ample time for them to cure.

It's been way over 90 days -- they keep giving lame excuses "We do not understnd your request" "Verification Documents not available"



THAT has got to be ammo to get thm to remove it right? Don't they have to have verification and SHOW it?



What's truly fnny, and this has got to be a great study, is that I send out nearly the identical letter three times -- once for me, one for my spouse and one for my daughter -- each person gets a different reply -- this time, with variations, we all got the "verification documents not available" Mine was just that, daughter's included Reolicy for INfo Retention -- the FCRA allows: etc -- spouse had Re credit report -- cannot remove your credit report -- AND Re; Promotion Suppression -- apparently (maybe some already knew this?) they either give or sell your info to others for promotional activities, "that result from TU's lists." Sharing info withour permission? I didn't sign anything to say I wanted my info included in "promotional lists" did you?



How do I file with the FTC? ONline complaint form or USPS?

they are telling you the answer and are awaiting your command!!

VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS NOT AVAILABLE MEANS THEY DONT HAVE ANYWAY TO VERIFY THE ACCOUNT IN QUESTION!

Tell them very nicely in your own words, "Since your agency has demonstrated that there are no documents available to verify this account as true or otherwise, why are you continuing to report it on my credit report?" "By what authority are you continuing to report this unverifiable debt since you have all ready stated there is no verifiable documents?" "Since you have demonstrated that there are no verifiable documents, please remove these entries immediately!" Balh blah ablh........



They are testing you and seeing if you are going to tell them what they need to do just to verify you know what the hell you are doing! Write it up, then give them another 30 days and watch what happens!! You other folks who are still struggling with this CRA stuff need to send Jerseee and Ice a couple of brewskis or something! Can't you guys see these two guys got this mess figured out and that they are willing to help as long as your hard head listens?? Their answers to all of our questions are on this forum somewhere. You just gotta read, read, read, and read some more!

When gregtu's light came on--he was just as fired up as dashboy is right about now. :-)



You have the knowledge. You are in your own way--dashboy's post should reveal to you more than what dashboy has said.



It should let you know that you are more knowledgeable than you think--you are just working with the skills that they want you to work with and not with the skills you have come to know and learn. In other words, you are fighting yourself--not the CRAs.
